Third Day

All day Brooklyn Bridge immersion. Ann Marie and I ended up at the South St. Seaport and agreed that it represented a Disneyfication of what was once a vital manufacturing/commercial hub. This has become a theme of the last three days. Are we studying the irrevocable decline of a great American city? As Robert Zagaroli put it this morning: the city exists now for the rich and tourists. More later.

First  day. Strenuous, informative walk along Greenpoint’s main drag. Lots of Polish talk on cell phones. Remined me of Grant Street in Buffalo, NY Streetscape looked just the same– only shorter
